We are pleased to announce that Dr. Matt Barros has been promoted to Senior Lecturer in the Linguistics Program. Dr. Barros has been a key part of the program since he came to Washington University in 2018. He has been outstanding teacher and mentor. He has taught advanced courses in syntax, semantics, pragmatics, and morphology, as well as Introduction to Linguistics. He has supervised numerous honors theses and research projects. Dr. Barros received his Ph.D. from Rutgers University in 2014, and he has maintained a strong research program ever since. He research program focuses on ellipsis and other key topics in both Syntax and Semantics. He is the author of several articles published in journals such as Linguistic Inquiry, Glossa, and Journal of Linguistics.
